Baby He Was Born to Run

I've never seen a dog enjoy the beach and the beach at low tide more than this dog right here. While I stopped filming at 11 minutes (my arm got tired), T-Rexie continued to run back and forth across the flats, chasing seagulls for a full 35 minutes until I said we needed to wrap it up.

I love watching him run free. He is so graceful and beautiful.  It's therapeutic even.

On the way off the beach, a couple who was having a picnic lunch (the only other people enjoying the beach with us) said, "wow, that was impressive!" Indicating he understood the comment, Trix lifted his chest out and tail high and began to prance by "Thank you, Thank you!"

What the heck? Why is the video coming up like that? ARGGGGG so frustrating when you spend time doing something and it needs to be re-done. NOT efficient!

Jay, Trix and Mike Lardy

watching Mike Lardy teach force fetch. The result of a hunt test mark with no retrieve, twice...

Trix has everything he needs (doubles and blinds) to be passing Senior Hunt tests except one minor detail, bringing back the duck. After the failed hunt test in Newburgh, NY yesterday, I had a quick vision of a cartoon book with Trix and a duck on the cover. The duck is batting her eyelashes at Trix but he's looking away lusting after a pheasant, a chuckar, a quail and a dummy. The name of the book is "He's Just Not That Into You"

Today's Agility Class Performance Plus

Nicole & Trix

We started class like diligent students, and ended like adolescents. Hey, you win some, you lose some. We still have lots of work to do. I need to stand up straight and Trix needs to stop thinking and pay attention to me!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...

I just wrote a whole post and it disappeared!

So in a nutshell (maybe this will help me to be succinct) 

Agility is awesome

started a 2nd class, so we are going 2 times a week, one in Buzzards Bay, one in Taunton with Paulette

Paulette loaned me her channel poles

had to delay practicing with them bc Trix punctured his paw while training with Jay (out for 5 days)

Paulette had me switch out Trix for her flat coated retriever, Jetta during class (Trix had his injury)

Jetta made me look like a REALLY GOOD HANDLER! (Thanks Jetta!)

Trix was not happy, barked for THE ENTIRE CLASS, flipped a soft crate and the table next to it.

For a short while, Trix was being offered free to a good home

Jay has been training with pheasants, Trix is very happy about that

Trix likes hunting better than agility, but loves agility, which means he really loves hunting

I just signed Trix up for his first hunt test in CT on June 19th

Jay is going with no expectations, just to use it as a training opportunity

I am super nervous. Thank God Jay is the handler, not me.
